What is Android Pay?

Android Pay allows you to make purchases using contactless and digital payment technology and unique security features built right into the devices you have with you every day. So you can use your mobile wallet to pay in a simple, secure, and private way.

Is there a cost?

No. Android Pay is a free service.

Is Android Pay secure?

Yes. Android Pay is secure because it processes transactions through a tokenization service. This service replaces a card’s primary account number with a random numerical sequence unique to a specific device, merchant, transaction type or channel.

Actual account numbers are not stored on the device, or on mobile servers, and cashiers will no longer see your name, credit card number or card security code, helping to reduce potential fraud.

What devices are compatible?

Android Pay is available for most NFC and HCE capable devices running Android running Kit Kat 4.4 or higher.

What cards are eligible?

Personal, business and health savings debit cards can be used with Android Pay.

How do I add my United Community Bank cards to Android Pay?

Simply open the Android Pay app and add your card by following the on-screen instructions. If your card successfully loads and activates, no further steps are required.

Will I need to verify my card with United Community Bank when I add it to Android Pay?

For security purposes, you may be prompted to call United Community Bank during normal business hours.

What is the purchase experience for cardholders?

At checkout, unlock your device and hold near the contactless terminal. Your device will beep or vibrate, followed by an on-screen confirmation. You may be asked to sign a receipt or enter your pin to complete your transaction.

Where can I use Android Pay?

Consumers can use Android Pay at merchants accepting contactless payments as well as mag-stripe only terminals commonly deployed in-stores where a plastic card can be swiped. Look for the contactless payment symbol.

What happens if my card is lost or stolen?

If your debit card has been lost or stolen, it is important that you report the missing card immediately. Assistance is a phone call away.

If your card is lost or stolen during normal business hours, contact your local bank office as soon as possible or call 706-439-6600 and ask for the Debit Card Department.

After hours, please call 706-439-6600 then follow the prompts to be directed to the card center in order to report and block your lost or stolen card. Then, contact your local branch on the next business day to order a replacement card.

Immediate reporting ensures potential losses will be kept to a minimum.

You will no longer be able to use your card within Android Pay, so you should also remove the card. When you receive your new card, you will need to re-add the new card.

How do I remove a card from Android Pay?

To remove a card from Android, select Android Pay. Next, touch the card you want to remove and select 'More.' Then, simply touch 'Delete Card.' You will need to confirm by selecting 'Delete.' Confirm the card deletion again with your fingerprint or by touching PIN and entering the four-digit code.
