Reliant Bank Joins Forces with United Community Bank

United Community Bank and Reliant Bank have joined forces to expand their shared commitment to quality service throughout Tennessee and beyond. As two institutions built on the foundation of service, we are dedicated to our customers and our communities.

The combined bank will provide Reliant customers with expanded access to United’s personal banking, business banking, and wealth management solutions, while maintaining the customer focus and local decision-making you have come to expect. Together, we are excited to continue providing personalized financial solutions to you, our valued customers.

We understand you may have questions, and we’re committed to keeping you informed throughout the transition process. At this time, there is nothing you need to do. You should continue to conduct your banking as you always have with the same great team you know and trust.

Q. Who is United Community Bank?

Q. How will the merger impact me?

A. There will be no immediate effects for any Reliant Bank customers. You should continue to conduct your banking as you normally do, and you will continue to experience the same great service from the local teams you know and trust.

Reliant Bank will fully transition to United Community Bank in April 2022. The United Community Bank and Reliant Bank teams are working diligently in the background to make this transition as seamless as possible for you.

As we prepare for the transition in April, you may begin to see the United Community Bank name appear on legal documents and contracts or see statements as “United Community Bank d/b/a Reliant Bank.” However, you should continue to conduct your banking as you normally do. We will notify you in advance if any action is needed.

 

Q. Where can I find additional information?

A. Reliant Bank and United Community Bank issued a joint announcement on July 14, 2021 that includes some initial details. A “welcome letter” was mailed to all Reliant Bank customers in early January, 2022. We will continue to update you through a variety of direct communications and general announcements as more information becomes available. Q. Why are Reliant Bank and United Community Bank joining forces?

A. The combination of United Community Bank and Reliant Bank will enhance United’s position in the high-growth metro Nashville and middle Tennessee region. It also provides a unique opportunity for United to offer its expanded product line to Reliant Bank customers.

The two banks have customer-centric community banking philosophies that, combined, will provide the resources of a larger institution and expanded customer access to commercial, retail and investment products and services, while maintaining the personal focus Reliant Bank customers know today.

 

Q. When did Reliant Bank begin its transition into United Community Bank?

A. On January 1, 2022, Reliant Bank officially became a part of United Community Bank, having received all required approvals from banking regulators. Until system integration of the two companies is completed this April 2022, Reliant Bank will operate as a trade name of United Community Bank. The name will appear on legal documents and contracts as “United Community Bank d/b/a Reliant Bank.”

Q. Will my accounts still be FDIC insured?

A. If you do not have any pre-existing accounts with United Community Bank, then there will be no change to your FDIC insurance coverage. If you do have accounts at both United Community Bank and Reliant Bank, the FDIC provides continuing separate insurance coverage for at least six months following the legal close on January 1, 2022.

 

Q. Will you continue to operate under the Reliant Bank name?

A. Initially yes; however, Reliant Bank will eventually begin operating under the United Community Bank name, with a full transition in April 2022. The United Community Bank and Reliant Bank teams are working diligently in the background to make this transition as seamless as possible for you.

As we prepare for the full transition in April, you may see the United Community Bank name appear on legal documents and contracts as “United Community Bank d/b/a Reliant Bank.” However, you should continue to conduct your banking as you normally do. We will notify you in advance if any action is needed.

 

Q. Do I need to do anything right now with my accounts?

A. No, at this time there are no actions that need to be taken.  You should continue to conduct your banking as you normally do. United Community Bank and Reliant Bank teams are working diligently in the background to make this transition as smooth as possible. We will notify you in advance if any action is needed.

 

Q. Will I be notified of important changes impacting my accounts, including Online and Mobile Banking?

A. Yes, the United Community Bank and Reliant Bank teams are dedicated to you, our customer, and we will communicate as frequently as possible throughout this transition. Any account, online, and/or mobile banking changes that may impact you will be communicated several weeks well in advance of the change occurring in April.
