Clayton serves as a Senior Vice President and leads Renewable Energy Finance with United’s Commercial Banking Solutions team. Clayton focuses on the growing renewable energy sector and helps provide financing for solar, battery storage or energy efficiency projects within the Southeast. Earning his bachelor’s degree in business management from Cornell University in 1998, as well as an MBA from Wake Forest University, Clayton joined United in 2017. Clayton has worked in banking since 1998, and is specifically experienced with finance, mergers and acquisitions, as well as energy and other strategic initiatives. Outside of the financial and renewable energy industries, Clayton is an avid recreational hockey player, has served in leadership roles with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Charlotte’s Advisory Council and enjoys helping coach his children's soccer, baseball and hockey teams.
