United Community Bank Strengthens Charlotte Team
“We are thrilled to develop our Charlotte team with the addition of someone who has such a strong network within the Charlotte business community,” said Jim Rose, State President of North Carolina for United Community Bank. “Doug Bowman is a proven leader with whom I have worked in the past. We are confident he and his team will further develop United Community Bank’s reputation of empowering its bankers to build lasting and valuable relationships with the clients in this area.”
“Having served the Charlotte business community for many years, I’m excited to join United at this time because now more than ever, our local businesses need a solid bank with solid bankers by their side. While Charlotte has no shortage of banks, I truly believe United’s customer-centric focus, strong capabilities and emphasis on personal service is exactly what our middle market businesses are looking for in a financial ally,” added Bowman.
Bowman earned an MBA from the Babcock School of Management at Wake Forest in 2005 and completed undergraduate studies at Penn State University and Pfeiffer University. He is actively involved in the community as president of the Quail View Home Owners Association, a member of the St. Jude Advisory Council of the Carolinas, and is past board chair of the Carolina Raptor Center. He is also an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, the World Affairs Council, and other non-profits. He and his wife, Susan, have been married for twenty years and have two children, daughter “EJ” (Charlotte Catholic High School) and son Clay (Holy Trinity Middle School).
As part of this expanded reach in the region, United Community Bank is pleased to announce that Charlie Curtis has been named Lake Norman President and will open an office in that area. Curtis has many years of experience in the market, and the initial business development efforts have been so positive, that this market is seen as worthy of its own dedicated office.
