United Community Bank announced July 1 it has officially located its headquarters in Greenville.

In February, the bank announced its intent to name Greenville as its corporate headquarters and add an additional 227 employees to the location over the next several years.

“Greenville provides an excellent place for our company to continue our plans for strategic growth,” said United Community Bank chairman and CEO Lynn Harton. “As we’ve increased our operations here over the past nine years, we’re continually impressed with the strong public-private partnership that helps to thoughtfully grow this community. More importantly, this vibrant community is an excellent place for our employees and their families to live and provides a great opportunity for future recruitment.”
