United Community Bank is proud to announce the promotion of Donald Harris to City President of White County. In this expanded role, Harris will be responsible for the oversight and strategic direction of all United Community Bank locations in Cleveland and Helen. Harris succeeds Mitch Ralston who was recently promoted within the company to lead the Commercial Lending Division for United Community Bank-Hall County.

“Donald has shown true dedication to our organization and is very deserving of this promotion,” said Jack Keener, State President of North Georgia and Tennessee for United Community Bank. “He has played a tremendous part in our growth and has laid a strong foundation through his leadership skills. I thank him tremendously for his influence and trust that he will play a key role in our future success.”

Prior to his promotion, Harris served as Senior Vice President. He has 34 years of banking experience, including time spent as a Teller, Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Manager. He is also experienced with consumer, real estate and commercial loans. More than 20 years of Harris’ career has been spent with United Community Bank.

“I am very enthusiastic about taking on this role,” said Harris. “Being a part of the UCB family has been very rewarding because we encourage and support one another, and we also think outside the box to come up with solutions for our customers. I am proud to serve my community through ‘The Bank That Service Built’.”

Originally from Habersham County, Harris relocated to White County with his wife Sandy in the late 1990s. The couple has three children: Isaac, Rachel and Leah. Harris has served on the board for the United Way of White County for more than 15 years and as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Cleveland for eight years. He most recently joined the White County Rotary Club.
