United Community Bank promotes Bernard Stanford to East Metro Atlanta President

Stanford has over 20 years of banking experience and joined United in 2018 as senior vice president and regional banking manager where he led the Rockdale and Newton markets. Prior to joining United, he worked at Wells Fargo and BB&T in commercial and industrial lending.
“I’m honored to take on this expanded role with United,” said Stanford. “I look forward to continuing the growth of the bank in the East Atlanta area and focusing on what matters the most – excellent customer service and personalized financial solutions for our clients.”
Stanford graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. Additionally, he is a graduate of United’s Leadership Academy, an internal leadership development program, and served on United’s Power of U Council to help promote the importance of inclusion and the value of diversity within the bank. He also completed the BB&T Banking School at Wake Forest. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 21 years and five children, playing golf and sailing with friends and family.
