“John’s leadership and success has been, and continues to be, a key driver of growth of our Middle Market Division,” said Doug Higgins, Atlanta Metro President for United Community Bank. “His experience, credit skill, ability to partner with other bankers and relationship-oriented approach make him the ideal person to assume the leadership of both of these divisions.”
Thompson has more than 25 years of banking experience. He has served as a Middle Market Relationship Manager for United since 2011. Prior to that, he managed Commercial Lines of Business for SunTrust Bank in the Georgia Region. “United is extremely well positioned to serve our commercial clients based on our size and expertise, and we are eager to continue the growth of these two critically important lines of business,” said Thompson. “I look forward to working with business clients throughout our footprint to obtain the right type of funding that will support their growth goals.”
