Life gets busy, and it can be easy to lose track of your available balance. United offers several options to help you manage overdrafts on eligible personal checking accounts. Compare the options below to find the one that may best fit your needs.
1 The information on this page applies only to eligible checking accounts established primarily for personal, family, or household purposes. Business checking accounts are subject to separate overdraft terms and fees.
2 Courtesy Overdraft with ATM and Debit Card Coverage is a discretionary service. We do not guarantee that we will always pay any overdraft transaction. Customers must opt in to authorize us to pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions. Customers may also choose to opt out of the Courtesy Overdraft Program. United Community Bank may pay overdrafts at our discretion and reserves the right to terminate this service at any time.
3 You are required to pay a $36 overdraft fee for each overdraft transaction that is paid by the bank. There is a limit of $108 each day in total fees that you can be charged for overdrawing your account. We will not charge you a Returned Item Fee for items presented against insufficient funds in your account and returned unpaid. Overdraft service applies to checks, pre-authorized electronic debits and online banking and bill payment transactions. Additionally, ATM withdrawals and one-time debit card transactions are covered if you choose to opt into this service for those transactions. Reimbursement of overdraft coverage payments must be made promptly by making a deposit in your account. Overdraft items are generally not covered for accounts that are not in good standing, do not have regular deposits or those with excessive overdrafts.
