Coverage comes standard for eligible United Community Bank personal checking accounts1.

  • Each occurrence is $36 per item3. Your daily overdraft charges are limited to a maximum of three (3) fees per day. 

  • Types of transactions covered
    • Checks
    • Other debit payments

Optional coverage added to Courtesy Overdraft that covers overdrafts for everyday debit card transactions.2

Overdraft Protection Transfer

Optional coverage that allows you to link your account to another United Community Bank savings4 or checking account, money market or a line of credit5 that will be used to cover overdrafts.

  • Overdraft Protection Transfer: $7.50 per occurrence. Standard overdraft fees apply for overdrawn payments beyond your available balance.

Can I pay off a loan through the online loan payment system?

Yes! But here’s a few things to remember:

  1. The loan can’t be a revolving line of credit as we do not process and payoff this loan type through the online loan payment system.  Revolving lines of credit include Overdraft Protection, Home Equity Line of Credit, Personal Line of Credit or Business Line of Credit.  
  2. The payment must be $5,000 or less and result in all outstanding principal, interest and applicable fees paid to $0.

Are there ways to avoid the fee when making a loan payment online?

Yes, you can open a checking or savings account online and make payments via free online transfers.

You may also complete the online payment registration to pay as a registered user to avoid the fee.

The following forms of payment are accepted through the online loan payment system:

  • ACH - bank account and routing number

I’m switching my hazard insurance to a different company. What do I do?

You need to let us know as soon as possible by fax or mail at the address below that you’ve changed insurance companies.  Please include your name, address, and loan number, along with the new policy information.

1We pay overdrafts based on our standard overdraft policy. We do not guarantee that we will always pay any overdraft transaction.

2Courtesy Overdraft with ATM and Debit Card Coverage is a discretionary service. We do not guarantee that we will always pay any overdraft transaction. Customers must opt in to authorize us to pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions. Customers may also choose to opt out of the Courtesy Overdraft Program. United Community Bank may pay overdrafts at our discretion and reserves the right to terminate this service at any time.

3You are required to pay a $36 overdraft fee for each overdraft transaction that is paid by the bank. There is a limit of $108 each day in total fees that you can be charged for overdrawing your account. We will not charge you a Returned Item Fee for items presented against insufficient funds in your account and returned unpaid. Overdraft service applies to checks, pre-authorized electronic debits and online banking and bill payment transactions. Additionally, ATM withdrawals and one-time debit card transactions are covered if you choose to opt into this service for those transactions. Reimbursement of overdraft coverage payments must be made promptly by making a deposit in your account. Overdraft items are generally not covered for accounts that are not in good standing, do not have regular deposits or those with excessive overdrafts.
