How to Bank with United

Branch and ATM Availability

Many United Community branches and offices have been impacted by power outages, flooding, or other damage due to the storms. Check the status of our current closures here.

If you cannot reach your local branch, you can contact our call center at 1-800-UCBANK1 (1-800-822-2651). Please be aware that due to the hurricane, our call centers are operating with limited power and staff and experiencing a high number of calls. Your wait time will likely be longer than normal.

If you are a business customer affected by Hurricane Helene, please visit the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loans website for helpful links. 

Financial Relief:

  • The U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) has financial assistance available for businesses who sustained physical damage and/or economic injury. Business Physical Disaster Loans can help repair or replace disaster-damaged property, equipment, and inventory. Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) are working capital loans to help small businesses meet ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met due to the disaster.
  • Individuals and business owners who incurred uninsured damages or who sustained losses from Hurricane Helene in certain areas may qualify for federal disaster assistance. Visit www.DisasterAssistance.gov, call 1-800-621-3362 or use the FEMA App to learn more.

Giving:

  • Donate to the Red Cross: Financial contributions are vital during recovery efforts. You can donate by visiting RedCross.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767). You can also text the word **HELENE** to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
  • Donate Blood or Platelets: Individuals in unaffected areas are encouraged to give blood to help ensure patients have access to lifesaving supplies. You can schedule a blood donation at RedCrossBlood.org or use the Blood Donor App.
  • Samaritan's Purse offers volunteer opportunities in disaster response. You can find more information or sign up to volunteer at their website: Samaritan's Purse Volunteer Opportunities.


North Carolina:

  • Donations made to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund will go to nonprofits working to meet the immediate needs of storm victims such as food and water, cleaning supplies and other emergency supplies. All of the donations made will go to disaster relief. To donate to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, visit nc.gov/donate. Donations can also be mailed to:

    • Or NC Disaster Relief Fund, c/o United Way of NC, 1130 Kildaire Farm Road, Suite 100, Cary NC 27511. 

  • ReadyNC: For information on power outages and shelter locations, visit ReadyNC.gov

  • DriveNC: For road closures and travel conditions, check DriveNC.gov.

  • NCDPS Helene Recovery: For the latest updates on the state's storm response and recovery, visit NCDPS.gov/Helene.

  • Flood Inundation Mapping: For real-time flood data, visit North Carolina's Flood Inundation Mapping and Alert Network.

  • FEMA may be able to help with serious needs, displacement, temporary lodging, basic home repair costs, personal property loss or other disaster-caused needs. Homeowners and renters in Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians can apply. Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621- 3362 or by using the FEMA App.

  • If you are trying to locate a loved one affected by Hurricane Helene, the Red Cross may be able to assist. Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), select “disaster," and provide as much detail as possible to help in the search. For more information, visit the Red Cross missing persons service page.


Florida:

  • FEMA may be able to help with serious needs, displacement, temporary lodging, basic home repair costs, personal property loss or other disaster-caused needs. Homeowners and renters in Charlotte, Citrus, Dixie, Franklin, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lee, Levy, Madison, Manatee, Pasco, Sarasota Taylor and Wakulla counties can apply. Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621- 3362 or by using the FEMA App.

South Carolina:

  • FEMA may be able to help with serious needs, displacement, temporary lodging, basic home repair costs, personal property loss or other disaster-caused needs. Homeowners and renters in Aiken, Anderson, Bamberg, Barnwell, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood, Lexington, Newberry, Oconee, Pickens, Saluda, and Spartanburg counties. This program provides direct financial assistance to residents who incurred uninsured damages to their property as a result of the storm. Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621- 3362 or by using the FEMA App.

Georgia:

  • Should you have damages to your home, business, or any other property, it's important to report them promptly. You can do so by visiting https://damage-assessment-gema-soc.hub.arcgis.com and selecting the Report Damage button.
  • Crisis Cleanup is a collaborative disaster work order management platform that improves coordination, reduces duplication of efforts, improves efficiency, and improves volunteers' experience. If you need assistance cleaning damages from Hurricane Helene, call Crisis Cleanup Hotline at 844-965-1386.
